Plastic Surgery Recovery Therapy is a series of post-op lymphatic massages designed to reduce accumulated fluid and prevent or get rid of lumps and bumps. It is also helpful after coolsculpting.

Before surgery: (I also recommend this to anyone preparing for surgery. The lymphatic system is how the body gets rid of the wastes broken down cells damaged by surgery. Lymphatic Drainage, or MLD is the best way to clear your lymphatic system to prepare for surgery).

How soon after surgery can I come to see you?

I can work on you as soon as the day after surgery. I never touch or get near open wounds and I wear gloves to work to reduce the possible risk of infection. Please book out. 

How many visits will I need after surgery?

I generally recommend about 7-10 sessions for surgeries such as liposuction, tummy tucks, BBL’s, and breast augmentation/lifts. People usually get 10 sessions, but some come back a few more times after that. This may sound like a lot of sessions, but people come about 2-3 times a week for the first 2-3 weeks and then once a week for several weeks thereafter.

Healing is a process and the nature of the therapy changes over time. The first thing we do is reduce the swelling which helps with the pain and discomfort of wearing compression garments (for plastic surgery recovery). At about the 3 week mark we begin to work on the scar to help it lay flat and reduce adhesions.

Also about this time we are dealing with any lumps and bumps that may have come up during the healing process. Finally, we work on helping to “reintegrate” the skin to the body. Most people have a hard time even touching their own skin after surgery because it doesn’t feel like it belongs to them. I help fix that.

Important: I do not reopened incisions and pushed fluid out.

It has absolutely **nothing** to do with Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
